History

For the most part they have had a fairly peaceful history with few wars. The last one was over 400 years ago and resulted in the creation of a single planet wide monarchy. Since then they have slowly blended together into a single people in an almost natural pace. It was during this period that a strong system of social programs as well as government endorsed education ensured that not only did the quality of life improve for the majority of the population but that all were treated equally.

Government

Unusual as it may seem they are ruled by a hereditary ruling family line that is missing the genetic gene for hearing. (much like the Hanovers of Old Earth who suffered from hemophilia.) Over time they have developed a limited form of telepathy that allows them to communicate with others.

Remarkable the ruling family are generally well liked and in most cases respected and loved by the general population. This may be partly due to the fact that they do an excellent job of running the government and go to extreme lengths to improve the overall quality of life for everyone on their planet.

At an early age every member of the ruling family are matched with 3 individuals who are especially receptive to their limited telepathic ability. These 3 are then trained and raised with the child to become both their voice and their helpers. Over time this bond between them grows to the point where they are easily able to communicate. In this way each member of the ruling family is able to be both a productive member of the government regardless of the genetic defect that makes them deaf.

Description

They appear to be typical terran style humanoids but with only Caucasian skin tones. Other than that a wide variety of heights, weights and body shapes are known to exist. However they tend to have lighter colour hair with a lot of browns as well as some reds and blondes mixed in as well.

Physiology

As with most intelligent humanoid species they have a very complex system with specialized organs, and unique hormones, chemicals and enzymes.

Psychology

For the most part they seem to be a very calm, relaxed, hard working people. They will help out others, work together for the common good and strive to help the community around them.

What few mental illness they have reported seem to be for the most part either caused by age or illness.

Religion

They believe in the divinity of the spirit. That the acts and manner of one’s life have an effect on the quality of one’s spirit. As a result most of the population practice a form of meditation twice daily. Normally this would be at sun up and at sun down.

Mythology

Based on certain archaeological research the existence of certain life forms which were once thought to be purely fictional have now been proven to exist. This has resulted in the resurgence in their interest in the old folk tales and legends.

Society

For the most part they have a fairly stable, peaceful society with everyone working together to improve the quality of life for everyone. Community is very important, almost as important as the family.

Culture

The arts in many different forms seem to be flourishing. There are a number of prominent museum and schools dedicated to preserving and educating the population in the various different art forms.

Customs

Every year they celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the next with 3 days of large scale community activities that include dances, music, feasting, competitions and activities of all kinds. This celebration is called the Merone Trivast, which roughly translated means beginning and end.

Technology

While not as advanced as most of the members of the Federation they have consistently advanced at a slow and reasonable pace. Some trade has been conducted in regards to some technology but in every case this has been done in an ethical and moral manner.

Economy

Due to their out of the way location within the Federation they do not have a lot of long term trade deals in place. As a result they are forced to survive on their own production and import mainly just luxury goods.

Military

They maintain a fairly small fleet and the planetary troops seem to function more as a police force than as a military army.

Federation Intelligence Files

Repeated friendly contact along with strong diplomatic negotiations has ensured the co-operative nature of the relationship between them and the Federation.
