Encountered on stardate 5143.3, a shape shifting alien called a Vendorian, boardes the enterprise pretending to be crew-man's fiance. It then proceeds to take the enteprise in to the Nuetral zone and harasses the crew. Only later does it show itself to Kirk. He out-smarts the creature and gets back to the Federation side of the Nuetral zone and the creature is removed from the ship.
