Ascendant class

Commissioned a scant five years after the maiden voyage of its Galaxy Class siblings, the Ascendant Class of explorers entered service in the rimward sectors of the United Federation of Planets in 2361. Equipped for extreme deep-space exploration missions, Ascendant Class vessels were designed with maximum comfort in mind and quickly became something of a favorite among officers whose families also lived aboard ship. Starfleet plans an ambitious production schedule for the class through the end of the decade, with three vessels per year being commissioned at the venerable Deneb Orbital Docks at Deneb IV.
