Taral is a young Bajoran woman who, like most Bajorans, had to suffer through the Cardassian Occupation of her homeworld. Once the Cardassian forces had left Bajor, Taral felt she had to leave too. She did not want to remain on Bajor in case the Cardassians returned. So she fled her home and headed for Earth. Once there she decided to join Starfleet and entered the Academy. After her first tour at Starbase 217, Admiral Krieger, whom she had met on Bajor During the Dominion War and had actually sponsored her application to the Academy, requested her transfer to his command at Starbase 118. She was then assigned to the 48th Rapid Response Task Group.

Personality & Appearance:

Taral is of average height with short dark hair and green eyes. Although she wants to make friends and be accepted, she is a fairly quiet and reserved individual. Not quite an introvert, she is very shy around people she does not know. She is intelligent and scholarly, and a dedicated doctor.

Idiosyncrasies:

Taral enjoys playing the flute, something she was only introduced to since her time at the Academy. Being brought up in an Occupation Camp, she's also a skilled runner, pickpocket and hand-to-hand fighter. She is totally intolerant of Cardassians because of the atrocities committed against herself and her people, and this anger will override even her Hippocratic Oath.
