HOW I CAME TO UFOP

I met a friend named Tuna aka Jess, through another RP medium and eventually started realizing we both loved Star Trek. When she started hunting for a place to write and create, she found here and eventually sent me the link. I've been here since early may 2024 and have been simming ever since. Even recruited my husband who serves in the fleet as well now.

HISTORY

• Where were you first placed? What was it like starting to sim on your vessel? I was placed on the USS Astraeus, a galaxy class, with Captain Mei'Konda at the helm. Admittedly with a friend at my side with Jess, it was an easier start, and Zeph's first tag inviting us to a Power Ranger Holodeck was pretty unforgettable way to start.
• What have been your greatest challenges in this group? Finding my place in it. I am a generally shy person and for once, I am playing a character who reflects a lot of my introvert nature that always leaves me uncertain how to reach out, nervous, feeling like I am bothering my crew. Usually I play bombastic personalities that you love or hate, but someone like Saa made it hard to figure out where she stands. But its also too early to tell!
• What have been your greatest achievements in this group? So far... I haven't done a lot, I am hoping to rediscover my love of writing and develop a character and story that I really struggle to ever put down.
• What do you hope to ultimately accomplish? I'm still figuring that out, maybe make it to First officer? CMO on a ship maybe!
• Where do you see this group in five years? I have no idea, I am hoping to see a few more ships launch, an expansion and further development of the mentoring system between new fleet members and older fleet members.
• How do you think this group has contributed to Star Trek's legacy? How has the group contributed to the internet community? Finding all this rich lore is absolutely inspiring, people running games of Star Trek Adventures tabletop not only have memory alpha to pull from but a place where creative writers who love the lore have spent years developing new ideas. It's ultimately enriched the fandom and the roleplay space for it over all in my opinion.
