Background
Born on Gideon, Sorin grew up in a world still adapting to disease and mortality. His parents were scientists involved in reintroduction infectious disease back into their planet's ecosystem. Growing up, Sorin got to see the world of Gideon with the newly stabilized population and their adoption of Federation policies as they integrated into the Federation. Fascinated with the history of disease and the epidemics of other civilizations, Sorin joined Starfleet to become an epidemiologist. After graduating, he was stationed aboard the Gorkon.
Personality
A bit of an eccentric person, Sorin seems to be ever excited and excitable. He is often found in his lab working on various experiments that grab his attention, leaving them often in various states of completeness. He requires reminders often to stay focused on the task at hand, as he can get sidetracked quickly. However, when he does produce results, they're often very insightful--especially after peer editing.
