Personal History
Kala was raised on Earth near the Great Lakes of North America in a town named Champlain. Her parents were both university educators. Her mother taught chemistry and her father taught Vulcan literature and culture as a cultural exchange delegate. Kala's life was firmly planted in both cultures. Her father thought it only logical that she be exposed to both worlds since she was a child of both. Kala, as most mixed children of different species do, went through rough spots growing up. She would have fits of anger and violence, even injuring a classmate more than once in primary school. She had the possibility of descending into a life of emotional chaos if it weren't for the support of both parents. Her mother teaching her to accept her emotions and her father teaching her how to reign them in helped her find a deep peace and true enjoyment of who she was. She found solace in study of the sciences under her mother's tutelage , the study of Vulcan literature under her father's guidance, and through sports. She became an accomplished and recognized science student and athlete.
