History:
Born on Vulcan, moved to Earth when she was very young. Being an only child helped her excel at things she taught herself, along with helpful step-ins by her parents. Her mother died from Tuvan Syndrome when Sylaa was just 10 years old. Due to that, she figured that the logical thing to do was to become a son to her father, who had often wished for one. She cut her hair and performed tasks that males usually took part in, which multiplied her strength and interests.
She fell in love with science the minute she knew what it meant. Her parents showered her with science type gifts often, to fuel her love for science and the possibility of her gaining a spot in Starfleet. Her father told her that his parents disowned him, them being Vulcans that that weren't too keen on Vulcan involvement with humans, for trying to get into Starfleet. He was unable to make it in, so he went back to Vulcan to the Vulcan Science Academy and mastered in Science and Technology. Sylaa's father's story inspired her to join Starfleet and finish what her father started. She grew out her hair, moved to San Francisco, and started the academy. Her father currently still lives in Oregon, where they had settled down after moving to Earth. She hopes to get placed on a wonderful ship with an exemplary science division.
