Elaine is a recent graduate of Starfleet academy, where she graduated top of her departmental class in semiotics and ancient history.  Her minor at the academy was in English Composition, feeling that this would give her an edge as a producer of reports.
==Service Aboard the USS Victory==
When she was transferred to the USS Victory, Elaine quickly set about becoming a one-member team of anthropologists.  She has spruced up the science department's A&A division single-handedly while adding to the department's staff a certain degree of humour.
