Dime de Scheppes is an officer of the Federation Starfleet, currently assigned to Deep Space 14. She was trained as a cultural anthropologist both inside and outside of Starfleet Academy, and currently serves as a diplomatic specialist.

Dime attained two advanced degrees before entering Starfleet Academy, in political science and cultural anthropology. Once in Starfleet Academy, she was trained as a science officer and pursued diplomatic studies, too. In recognition of her work, she was advanced immediately to the rank of lieutenant, junior grade upon graduation.
She served for several years on the USS Invicta before being reassigned to the USS Thor in 2397, the USS Oumuamua when that ship was commissioned, and Deep Space 14 in orbit of New Bajor when the station was brought online..
