Ensign Tsai graduated from the Academy in 238405. She was posted to the USS Triumphant as a helm officer.
At the Academy, Tsai petioned to join the Nova Squadron, and was accepted. She left after two months, however, citing personal differences. However, she was truly disappointed over the Squadron's falling reputation as a haven for the best pilots, as she discovered only mediocre fliers. She used the extra time to practice more on her own.
Learning how to pilot non-Federation ships has always been a study topic that's interesting to her.
