Backstory/Timeline
Makena spent the early part of her childhood in the village; her family lived for many generations. During her teen years, Makena and her brothers had stayed in Betazed, Trill Homeworld and Vulcan, due to their parents’ wanting to try living in different places. That migration to other worlds instilled a desire in Makena to join Starfleet. Makena is a very compassionate person by nature, and one reason to become a nurse was that she wanted to help other people. Another reason was that she had the yearning for learning and discovering new things, particularly in the field of medicine, where she could come up with new treatments.
The Atlantis is her second assignment, after a long but quiet tour on Deep Space 26.
