Player achievements are OOC accolades awarded by the command staves of participating ships to their players for completing IC or OOC objectives and challenges. They are also used to track progress towards promotion.

Achievements are self-reported by players themselves to their respective command staff. If a player believes they have earned an achievement, they should notify their command staff by email and include the link to the supporting sim or documentation. Player achievements are tracked on a spreadsheet/leaderboard so that players can keep track of achievements they have earned.

History and Implementation

First developed and introduced for the USS Invicta by Rich (Roshanara Rahman) and Deliera (Tristam Core) in 2016, the original player achievement system has been implemented by the following ships:

• USS Veritas (ship currently active)
• USS Atlantis (ship currently active)
• USS Gorkon (ship currently active)
• USS Juneau (ship currently active)
• USS Resolution (ship currently active)
• USS Thor (ship currently active)
• USS Astraeus
• USS Eagle
• USS Invicta

In addition, the following two ships have developed their own set of player achievements:

• USS Columbia - Columbia Player Achievements
• USS Constitution-B - Constitution Player Achievements (ship currently active)

Player achievements are divided into four categories. Click on a category to see all the achievements in that category:

• Tour of Duty Achievements
  • These achievements are required before advancement to the next rank.
• General Achievements
  • These achievements are optional and are not required for promotion. They are given for IC and OOC challenges not specific to a particular duty post or character interaction.
• Mission and Location Achievements
  • These achievements are optional and are not required for promotion. They are given for IC and OOC challenges specific to a mission or location dependent on ship operating area.
• Duty Post Achievements
  • These achievements are optional and are not required for promotion. They are given for players that utilize qualities of a particular duty post.
• Character Interaction Achievements
  • These achievements are optional and are not required for promotion. They are awarded for interactions with specific characters and created by those characters' writers. Once you have reached the rank of lieutenant JG, you can create your own achievements that other players can earn from your character and submit them to the command crew to be added here.

Displaying Achievements

Each player achievement is awarded with an icon. They can be displayed wherever the player would like, such as on his/her user page, character’s bio, or forum signature. All icons are made by Freepik from www.flaticon.com.

To easily display a player achievement on the wiki, use the PA template by simply writing: {{PA|Name of the Achievement}}

For instance,

creates:

And you can list them in a row or in a table:

Optional SIM link

You can also add the link to the SIM in which you earned that achievement by adding SIM=URL of the sim. For instance:

Displaying achievements

Player achievements can be displayed on your character's sidebar, just like awards, service ribbons, and badges, using Template:Achievements Rack.

Adding achievements to the Wiki

You can add achievements to the Wiki for your character or ship by following these steps:

Finding and Uploading an Image

• Find an image via Flaticon/Freepik. Choose a monocolor image, if possible.
• Download the PNG in 512 pixels.
• Go to Upload file and upload your image.
• In order for the image to appear when using in the Player Achievement rack, you need to specify the name like so:

Player Achievement-You want flies with that?.png

• Make sure to add the following as the comment:

 Icon made by [http://www.freepik.com/ Freepik] from [http://www.flaticon.com  www.flaticon.com] [[Category:Player Achievements]]

• Save it and make sure all the above is correctly applied. If you goof on the file name, it can be moved.

Adding the achievement to the ship/character/category above

Once you've got your achievement on the wiki, you'll need to add it into the racks above.

• If you are adding the achievement to an existing menu (e.g. Mission Related) copy and paste the below code into the menu and edit as required.

• If you are adding a new menu for your character, copy and paste the below code under the ship the character is assigned to and edit as required.

• Check it over and then save it.
