WORK IN PROGRESS

Welcome to the Writing Improvement section of UFOP:Starbase 118. We have a substantial collection of articles and tutorials to help you work on improving your writing technique.

Overview

Going through our Academy ensures that our members are at least proficient in writing to a certain standard, with assistance along the way from our training operations team. After being posted to a ship, beyond some mentoring during the first few months, that process of coaching and growth may stop. Whether you're looking to improve a specific aspect of writing, or need some general advice, our extensive library of tutorials and articles includes:

  • Style and the mechanics of writing well
  • Developing plots and other elements of story
  • Character development techniques
  • Explanations of Starbase 118 simming policies
  • Development of alien races and other non-canon content
