Background

As a child Michael’s his father remained tough and remote, rarely showing him any love or affection. Michael and his father continued to have a troubled relationship and at the age of 16 Michael struck his father in the stomach after a stormy argument, Michael has since confessed that it was like ‘hitting a brick wall.’ Michael wanted to become a star fleet engineer growing up but had trouble focusing in class and as such had only very mediocre grades when he left school. He very briefly concerned enlisted in the Marine Corps after leaving school but decided to Join the Star Fleet enlisted program.

Career Overview

Michael began his career as an eager enlisted teenager, intent on making a name for himself and for the first part of his career he was complete profession, being reliable, willing to learn and extremely hard working. Within a short time he received recognition from his first CO for his part in the rescue of two junior officers from a compartment fire in his ships science labs.

He continued his climb of the enlisted ‘ratings’ until he reached petty officer 2nd class. Michael had not yet specified what happened to change attitude and his career projection but what is clear is that his demeanor but on duty and off changed dramatically. Michael over a four year period Michael was involved in and reprimanded for various infractions including, three separate physical altercations between him and off duty Marine personnel, and was suspected as supplying the ships crew contraband. On the last occasion, a five cases of Romulan Ale and a container of Cardassian disruptors found in a one of the ships shuttles that was listed as down for repair. While it could not be proven by the Master at Arms that these were Michael’s there was enough circumstantial evidence against him to strip him of his Petty Officer 2nd and transfer him off of the ship. After being demoted and wallowing in self pity of Michael resigned himself to have 'one last go' at restarting his star fleet career and gained an his first excellent rating in seven in a performance review after his transfer.

After two more excellent ratings, Michael was transferred to the Victory as senior NCO in the gamma shift (nightshift) engineering team. During his first mission on the ship, the victory was contacted by a crew from the future and warned about an upcoming invasion from a species known as ‘The Hunger.’ The crew of the Victory was able to prevent this invasion but during the final the ship was boarded by high poisonous bug like creatures. Michael was in engineering when the ship was boarded and during the fight was bitten in the forearm, fearing certain death; Michael preformed an add-hoc amputation of his arm with a wielding touch. Michael has since been given a biosynthetic arm which however his motor faction range, while expanding through physiotherapy, is still limited.

For his second mission Michael was transferred to Tactical as a Gunner’s mate, and despite ‘losing’ the bridge on his watch was battle field promoted to Petty Officer 1st Class by Acting CO Lieutenant J.G Shedet so that he could take command of the remaining engineering section.

Additional

Michael is in excellent shape, he has a athletic build from swimming and lifting weights. He also enjoys boxing but finds it difficult to find sparring partners, instead he uses his own holodeck program or shadow boxes in the ships gym.
