History
The Tarlac were one of two primitive races, including the Ellora, that were conquered by the Son'a in 2325. By 2375, both the Ellora and the Tarlac were fully integrated into the So'na society as indentured servants.
Currently very little is known about their history as the Son’a seem to be completely uninterested and have never recorded any data in regards to this subject.
Government
They have no government of their own and are ruled by the Son’a. This takes the form of a Governor with a staff of 10 other Son’a acting as his official cabinet. Each is responsible for a different aspect of the current ruling body and reporting directly to the governor. As such they are part of the Son’a Solidarity.
Description
The Tarlac males tend to have long, shaggy, dark hair and darker Caucasian skin tones while the females seem to have longer, lighter colored hair and lighter Caucasian skin tones. For the most part most members of both sex’s tend to be between 5’9 and 6’ and 150 lbs to 200 lbs.
Physiology
As with most complex intelligent humanoid species they have a fairly complex system of specialized organs, hormones, chemicals, enzymes and systems. Currently our knowledge of their physiology is very sparse as there is very little data in the Son’a data banks regarding this subject.
Psychology
They are definitely the more emotional of the two subject species controlled by the Son’a. They tend to let emotions control them more than most intelligent species or so it seems.
Religion
Nothing is currently known about this aspect of their society as the Son’a seem to be completely uninterested and have never recorded any data in regards to this subject.
Mythology
Nothing is currently known about this aspect of their society as the Son’a seem to be completely uninterested and have never recorded any data in regards to this subject.
Society
Formerly a developing primitive race, the Tarlac, along with the Ellora, were fully integrated into Son'a society as indentured servants by 2375. Now they can be found on virtually every colony, outpost, facility and world controlled by the Son’a.
They perform most of the skilled and technical work needed to keep the Son’a Solidarity functioning and productive. As a people they seem to thrive under these conditions and seem to strive for greater opportunities to advance their technical abilities.
Culture
They enjoy most forms of art, especially music and are capable of creating fairly complex melodies. Most of their music has a soft, sensual quality that is both relaxing and soothing.
Customs
The females select their mates and they do not seem to mate for life. A female can and may decide to replace their mate if for some reason he displeases her or in some other way proves himself to be unworthy of her attentions.
Technology
Before being conquered by the Son’a they were a developing yet primitive people just starting to create advanced technology that would have soon allowed them to launch probes into space. Now they have fully adapted and are able to use most of the technology available to the Son’a.
Economy
They were fairly self-sufficient before being conquered but now provide the Son’a with anything and everything they need. They also trade almost exclusively with the Elloran.
Military
They have no military capability of their own as they were conquered by the Son’a. However a large number of them serve aboard the various types of ships used by the Son’a as technical or support staff.
Federation Intelligence Files
The Tarlac are part of the Son’a Solidarity, having become fully integrated into their society after being conquered. At this time they do not seem to be that motivated to rebel and actually seem to be working towards improving their position with in this society.
In 2376, The Doctor was sent to the Alpha Quadrant to treat Doctor Lewis Zimmerman for a fatal virus. Doctor Zimmerman believed the Doctor to be obsolete and therefore refused treatment. The Doctor tried more creative means and downloaded a Tarlac female template in order to alter his appearance, and went to Doctor Zimmerman as a masseuse. In that guise he attempted to secretly diagnose Dr. Zimmerman's illness. Dr. Zimmerman discovered the ruse and realigned the Doctor's matrix.
Sources
Both Memory Alpha and Memory Beta were used as well as the TNG movie: Star Trek: Insurrection and the TV episode VOY: Life Line.
The reference book Star Trek: Star Charts was used as well.
