Virgil is a young man, described by many as a nervous worrier. Despite this, he serves as a Security Officer aboard the Gorkon, where he is mainly assigned to guard duty on the various cargo bays. His parents effectively bullied him into joining Starfleet, his father paying to ensure his enrolment. His older brother, George Hawkins II (or Junior), is far superior officer, and Virgil is almost always in his shadow.

Death

Hawkins was aboard the USS Njörðr when it flipped upside down. Although he survived the initial damage, he was killed by an onslaught of crab-like creatures in the bar, the World Tree. He gave his life so that other survivors could escape the bar.
