Due to recent engineering endeavors and the ever changing needs of the fleet engineers, a call was put our for the development of a suit designed for the possible hazardous duties that an engineer could be called to be involved in.  Starfleet R & D Tokyo has spent the last several years developing the HDE (Hazardous Duty Environmental) Suit.  A self contained, specially designed unit, with the purpose of providing an extra layer of safety to protect engineers from hazards outside a vessel engine room
