History
The Anticans and the other race in their system, the Selay, entered hostilities as soon as they discovered each other. After several decades of contained war and uncontained hatred, both simultaneously applied for Federation membership in 2366. Federation mediators were able to resolve the conflict and both inhabited worlds are very recent additions to the Federation.
There are numerous rumours regarding the barbaric nature of the extent of the war between these two species. Includeing the unconfirmed claims that both species would eat the dead of the other.
It is an interesting fluke that two semi-humanoid sentient species evolved concurrently in the same system, with equivalent levels of technology. It has sparked much interest among various scholars.
Government
They have a unified government with elected officials serveing on a council.
Description
The Anticans are large, canine like humanoids, who are marked by their canine-like faces, leathery skin and enlarged rear craniums. Although mostly bald, they have shaggy sideburns, moustaches and eyebrows that descend into long streams often past their shoulders.
A carnivorous species that prefers to consume live or raw meat for almost every meal, they call the humans' use of materialised meat barbaric and emit a continuous raspy, breathy sound.
Physiology
They have a digestive system that requires a large amount of raw meat. It's ability to deal with almost any foreign bacteria in the meat makes it hard to process other types of food.
Psychology
They have a pack mentality and do not like to hunt by themselves.
Religion
Carnus is the master of the hunt. The people feast and celebrate the bounty that he has provided.
Mythology
Many legends exsist that tell of the exploits of Carnus. Some Federation anthropologists have the theory that he may have been a real individual or collection of people who lived during their dark ages. Men who by their ability to hunt were able to provide for their families and tribes.
Society
Close knit communities and family groups working well together. Fairly safe cities with little crime but with areas of poverty and wealth seperated by zones of industrial facilities.
Culture
They enjoy spirited dances that tell a story. In many cases these dances are about the hunt but not exclusively. They enjoy a rythmic music with mostly drums and string intruments with a few hunting horns mixed in.
Customs
The hunt is still a very important part of their culture. Certain animals are raised and trained to be difficult to hunt. Then they are released and hunted as part of a celebration such as a wedding or coming of age.
Technology
There technology level is way below that of many of the other member worlds in the Federation. Strangely enough they are extremely close to that of the Selay, the other species that lives in their system.
Economy
They are fairly selfsufficent but since joining the Federation have established a number of trade deals with a number of other species. However they still refuse to trade with the Selay.
Military
They have a well developed military force with the emphasis on ground and planetary defence troops. Their space craft have limited combat capabilities and are used mostly for conveying the troops to the location in which they will do battle.
Federation Intelligence Files
Their delegation came aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) on Stardate 41249.3. They had a longstanding dispute with the Selay, another sentient race that lived in the their system and during their trip on the USS Enterprise 1701-D they used concealed weapons to go hunting for their archenemy the Selay.

It is an interesting fluke that two semi-humanoid sentient species evolved concurrently in the same system, with equivalent levels of technology. It has sparked much interest among various scholars.
Government
They have a central government led by members of the nobility.
Description
Reptilian semi-humanoids. Selayans resemble upright bipedal serpents with two arms. Tri-digited and of average height, they apparently have a well-developed sense of smell. Their scaly skin fans up into a cobra-like hood across the back of the head and the official party of ambassadors wears loose, flowing collared gowns.
Physiology

Ekosian
Humanoids from Ekos in an unnamed star system. The parent race of the Zeon race on the outermost world in their system, on a colony launched over three centuries ago. In violation of the Prime Directive, an undercover Federation cultural specialist altered the Ekosian culture in 2268 to mimic the 1930's Terran culture of Nazi Germany. Dr. John Gill hoped to replicate the efficiency and order of the Nazi regime but without the hate and cruelty. The attempt failed when the Ekosian culture. Only further Federation intervention stopped this potential mass murder. The Ekosians are almost indistinguishable from Terrans.

Arbazan
A highly conservative semi-humanoid race known for their ultra-right, almost fascist, political and social policies, with a reputation for arrogance. They are easy to take offence, and find haven in boring, bureaucratic jobs or mundane research jobs. They are mostly humanoid except with a vestigial ridge just above the eyebrow and along the nose and can be mostly distinguished in appearance by a high forehead hairline. The word "Arbazan" is used as both the adjective and with "the" as the noun for the natives. They are Federation members who (rumour has it) are a "sexually repressed" species. Their ambassador Taxco was one of four Arbazans visiting the Bajoran wormhole on a fact-finding mission circa stardate 46925 .
