Im a 27 year old writer (yep, I write for a living as well as for fun). I have a crazy habit of picking up animals in need of help, and I have twin 6 year olds. Life is hectic, but its fun. My ultimate goal is to either get back in school and just go to school forever (love to learn) or go back to school for a little while and do something in a science field (preferably physics/geology/astronomy/aeronautics). For now, though, I'm stuck as a writer.

Real Life information
Kids and writing keep me very very busy. My son has Asperger's disorder, which is on the Autism spectrum of disorders. This forces me to look at life a bit differently. I don't so much feel like he is sick or anything, and honestly I have come to appreciate the way he looks at life. People often compare Asperger's to the Vulcans from Star Trek, and I have to agree. My son even does the eyebrow thing when something doesn't make sense to him.
I enjoy learning above all things, and I love letting the imagination run wild. I grew up on Star Trek, as my parents were big fans, but I kind of lost the "spark" when I got older. Well, recently it's back. I kind of missed it, as the fan community really does have a kindredship and exist on a level that outsiders really aren't. There is so much to learn from the adventures of the Enterprise through the years; many things quite useful in the real world.
Aside from this rekindling, I also enjoy my pets, astronomy, model building, and weather. I currently serve as a volunteer weather spotter for the NWS in NC.
How you came to UFOP: SB118
Back in the day, when I was 15 or so, I used to SIM with a group called the United Federation for Earth's Defense. I had lots of fun, but as I got into college and did other things, I kind of stepped away. Not long ago, I went back looking for them, only to find that they were long dead. The last update of any kind was back in 2007, which made me sad. So, I set out in search of a sim that could fill the void and take up my time as I had just quit playing World of Warcraft. Yes, I was an addict, but now I found something new to be addicted to!
History
- Where were you first placed? What was it like starting to sim on your vessel?
I'm still new, and have yet to be placed on a ship, but the USS Centris training vessel was awesome.
- What have been your greatest challenges in this group?
Trying to not act like a noob to trek, since I've been away from it for so long. Last I knew, Voyager was in its 4th or 5th season, and I think Enterprise had just came out.
- What have been your greatest achievements in this group?
Graduating!
- What do you hope to ultimately accomplish?
Integration into the community, as most of them seem quite fun.
- Where do you see this group in five years?
No idea, but hopefully still here.
- How do you think this group has contributed to Star Trek's legacy? How has the group contributed to the internet community?
I'm not sure about the internet community, but I think that many members try to hold true to the dream that Mr. Roddenberry put forth so many years ago.
