The north polar ice cap is thought to be over 500 meters thick at the polar cap and the ice covers an area approximately 2,400 km or 1,500 miles wide. Strangely enough with the advance of technology all 3 nations have discovered that far to the north in the center of the north polar ice cap is a region which is about 8 km or 5 miles wide where the rocky ground is totally exposed.
It can only be approached by air. This area is treated as neutral ground and no combat is conducted here. In fact all 3 nations maintain a very small colony of diplomatic and scientific personel here. This area is refered to as Dos'V'dana.
No one is allowed to approach or enter this region unless all 3 governments have given permission. In fact all 3 governments maintain an extremely strong military presence just off the coast of the north polar ice cap. Their orders are to destroy any and all non-authorised vessels, aircraft or personnel entering or trying to leave the area.
Strangely enough only a couple people have ever been allowed to leave the small research city. In fact only 2 from each of the 3 nations. Any other personnel who get assigned to this facility are expected to stay there for the rest of their lives.
No communications are allowed with this region. In fact very few even know of it's existance. Those few who have learned of it are usually transfered there immediately. Then there families are informed that they were killed during a border skirmish with the enemy.
At the center of this region stands a 50 foot statue of a strange humanoid. They still have no idea how old it is or what it's made of.
Dos'V'dana translates as forbidden zone.
