Template Documentation
Used for recording article related discussions and other milestones. Currently, the template is only aimed at articles with 118Wiki:Featured Articles nominations, but can be amended in the future to include other information.

Usage

Basic usage:

{{Article history
|current
|date1 =
|link1 =
|process1 =
|result1 =
}}

The template should always go to the talk page! It contains metadata that is not useful for most users, hence it should be placed where it won't bother an average reader.

current parameter states the current state of the article in relation to being a featured article (or other states when implemented). Use the most descriptive one of the following abbreviations:

abbr meaning
fa Featured article
fac Featured article candidate
fac fail Former featured article candidate
fa old Former featured article

date1 (as well as date2, date3, ...) are for the dates in which each record entry was filed. Use the date of end of discussion, i.e. result or the final proper comment if the result date is misleading.

link1 (as well as link2, link3, ...) are for the links to the appropriate conversations where the decision was made. Will take the form of a talk page subpage, so use only the last part of it, e.g. "FA Discussion" instead of "Talk:Foo/FA Discussion". Use "none" if you wish to have no link, or that the link is incorporated to the process parameters.

process1 (as well as process2, process3, ...) are for the name of the recorded milestone.

result1 (as well as result2, result3, ...) are to inform what result the conversation lead to.

namespace detection can be used to remove the namespace detection error. Input "no" if you do not want to see the error message displayed.

Example

{{Article history|current=FA old
|date1 = 1 January 2020
|link1 = FA Discussion
|process1 = Featured article nomination
|result1 = Not approved
|date2 = 25 December 2022
|link2 = FA Discussion 2
|process2 = Featured article nomination
|result2 = Approved
|date3 = 10 July 2024
|link3 = none
|process3 = Featured article review
|result3 = Status removed}}
