Nova Hibernia was settled by a collection of colonists from Polish and Irish communities in the 2200's. The capital and largest city is Lechia.
Nova Hibernia was chosen partially because it needed no terraforming and the island-dominated oceans were reminiscent of those in the North Atlantic on Earth. A few native Earth species were imported (besides humans) such as horses and cows, while the native fish/amphibian creatures were domesticated.
Most animals native to Nova Hibernia have six appendages.
