| As a student of clinical psychology, at the University of Betazed, instructors initially thought that Sepulsra wasn't worthy or capable of passing, believing her too unruly, and mischievous. Yet her techniques were tantamount to many of her success stories, and despite the scorns from her peers and class-mates, she was reluctantly permitted a graduation.

| Her parents, Dwavriya and Cesmol Hex, were notorious naturists who took the tradition of undressing further than anyone else in Leiddumai, and like the majority of older-generation Betazoids, felt empowered by the status and reputation that came with their notoriety. Dwavriya in particular considered her children as investments, involving herself in their interests at any given opportunity; however, her daughter always proved to be a specific challenge, and not so easy to manage or even track down. Although a non-royal family, the House of Hex was swathed in scandal nonetheless, and gossip had Sepulsra tipped as the one responsible.
