What Brought Jim to SB118
|

Jim had been a fan of Star Trek for as long as he could remember. When he was 10, he was introduced to Roleplaying Games (RPGs), most specifically Dungeons & Dragons. It was a hobby that he has loved ever since and he has played many different RPGs over the years. In early 2000, he went to find a RPG that focused on Star Trek, but there was a disturbing lack of such games, so he discovered something called PBeM, or Play-by-Email. He found a group that did email, turned-based RPGs and joined. While Jim cannot be certain, but he believes that it was SB118 though it may have been another group. However, after a few months circumstances in his life forced him to abruptly end his participation in that group and it wouldn't be for another 17 years before he could look for such a group again. That was when he found SB118 and applied. He was enrolled in the Academy and never looked back.
