Vera grew up moving from assignment to assignment with her two Star Fleet parents. It came as no surprise that she joined Star Fleet herself as soon as she was eligible. Growing up something of a tomboy she gravitated towards Security and thrived in that role. She formed no lasting relationships preferring to limit them to short shore leave dalliances. However a severe injury inflicted while she attempted to save a refugee Romulan senator and her family caused Vera to question the direction her life had taken. Somewhat to her surprise she discovered that she wanted a family and shortly after this discovery she began a relationship with the CMO of the USS Drake Dantin Vex. Danny, the son of Dantin from a previous relationship, has come to live with his father and is a major part of the attraction Vera has for the Orion Doctor.
