Charea did her undergraduate studies in physics on Betazed. She transferred to Vulcan upon recommendation of her college counselor to further her education. Although she did finish her Master's Degree, she chose to enter Starfleet instead of pursuing her doctorate. The focus of her studies has been thermodynamics, although she has studied other areas where focus has overlapped.

Charea is average of a Betazoid woman in many ways. However, she's not as religious as her family and her peers. She's more grounded into science and physics, much to the annoyance of her family. Although she considers herself open to the possibility that the four deities exist, she doubts they really do. She's friendly enough and outgoing. Charea was born into the second house, which is one of the oldest. Her childhood was healthy and normal enough, but she was always curious. She was always taking things apart to see how they worked. She was able to gain early admission into the university an started on her college education early. She was 21 when she went to the Vulcan Science Academy, and stayed a couple years before going to Starfleet Academy. She did well in her classes at the academy, and on her cadet cruise. She's currently assigned to the USS Excalibur.
