Tarod is a border planet on the edge of the Romulan Neutral Zone. It contains a Federation monitoring outpost that was destroyed in 2364.
Also mentioned in DC Comics' Star Trek: The Next Generation 2 - Spirit in the Sky! by Mike Carlin. In that publication, on stardate 42120.3 a race of energy sihons called the Creeg are introduced to the Federation on Tarod.
