The M'klexa are a species of humanoids with four eyes that are approximately five times the size of most other humanoid species as well are having 4 arms on their upper torso. Since being the victim of an attack by the Romulans they have adopted an isolationist point of view and no longer venture outside of their system.

History

The M'klexa discovering warp drive technology in 2130 but never had that much interest in space exploration and only made a few first contacts before they lost interest. During this time they made contact with the Menk in 2153 and later the Vulcans in 2156.

The M'klexa continued to explore for a few years more until the middle part of the Earth-Romulan war when a Romulan raiding party struck at their homeworld. Though they were able to repel the attackers, it was enough to make the M'klexa decide not to leave their homeworld anymore.

From that point onward, they have remained in their star system and rarely tolerate visitors of any kind. As a result not much is known about their early history or what has been transpiring since then with in their system or on their homeworld.

Government

The government is believed to be a republic though the M'klexa are not interested in sharing any data of any kind regarding this aspect of their political beliefs with outsiders.

Description

They have large bulbous heads with four eyes that are five times the size of those of a Vulcan as well as four upper limbs.

Physiology

Not much is known about their physiology as this species has had no interest in speaking with other species. However most experts agree that as with most intelligent humanoid species they must have a very complex system with specialized organs, and unique hormones, chemicals and enzymes.

This would mean that they are typical humanoids with most of the physical, mental and biological medical problems that seem to plague most other humanoid species.

Psychology

They are currently isolationists who seem to have become xenophobic following the attack on their homeworld by the Romulans. There is very little data available as they kept any records of mental illnesses or how they treat or handle those cases secured.

Religion

Nothing is known about their religious beliefs, not even if they have any as the M'klexa are not interested in sharing any data of any kind regarding this aspect of their society with outsiders.

Mythology

Nothing is known about any mythological beliefs, not even if they have any as the M'klexa are not interested in sharing any data of any kind with outsiders.

Society

Most experts tend to agree that they must have a very ordered society with the entire population working together. This would explain how they were able to build such a massive defensive system around their homeworld in such a short period of time. However at this time this is still just conjecture as more data is required to prove this hypothesis.

Other than this nothing is known about their society as the M'klexa are not interested in sharing any data of any kind regarding this aspect of their society with outsiders.

Culture

They seem to like music but not to the degree that they seem to enjoy mostly visual art forms that many would consider to be unusual due to the amount of optical-illusions incorporated into not only their design but their execution in numerous different styles and types of visual art forms. Most experts believe this may be due to their 4 extra-large eyes.

Customs

Nothing is known about any customs they may have, not even if they have any as the M'klexa are not interested in sharing any data of any kind with outsiders.

Technology

Based on the level of technology detected within their warships and the early warning stations most experts seem to agree that they seem to be about equivalent to the least advanced of the Federation member worlds.

Economy

They are completely self-sufficient and do not seek any off world products or contact.

Military

Following the defeat of a major Romulan raiding party that had attacked their homeworld during the Earth-Romulan war the M’klexa adopted a series of new policies in regards to their defensive needs.

First was the construction of a major network of defensive satellites. Next was the construction of a series of early warning stations designed to give them advanced warning of the approach of any vessels. Third was to design and construct more effective warships.

Defensive Satellites

Currently they have three layers of defensive satellites deployed around their homeworld. These are constantly being inspected, repaired and upgraded as needed. In fact as part of the inner layer there is a station with a crew of 50 whose only job is the maintenance and repair of the defensive satellites.

All 6 of the moons have also been incorporated into this defensive system with the largest having been transformed into a military facility with landing and repair facilities for all of their ships. It is also covered with weapons platforms.

Warning Stations

Throughout the system are stationed a large number of advanced warning stations designed to detect and scan any and all objects entering the system. These are constantly relaying data back to the monitoring facility located both on the smallest moon but also on the largest one as well.

Warships

They now have a small fleet of 15 ships. 5 of those would be considered to be dreadnaughts and the other 10 would be heavy cruisers. About half of them are on patrol within their system at any time and the other half are always kept close to their homeworld patrolling just outside the outer layer of defensive satellites.

Federation Intelligence Files

The M'klexa were an interstellar civilization that was encountered by the Valakians sometime prior to the 2150s.

The Vulcans had no previous contact with the M'klexa as of 2151.

The M'klexa and Vulcans had first contact only a short time before the year 2156, but relations between the two species was peaceful.

In 2156, the Enterprise encountered a disabled M'klexa ship and got them under way successfully.
