Personal History
Drayke Lee Flemming was born to Albert and Linda Flemming on stardate 235306.20. Drayke was born aboard the merchant ship Starstream, where his parents were crew members. Two years later, Drayke became a big brother when his sister was born.
Life aboard ship was interesting for the Flemming children. As soon as they were old enough, both kids were adopted into some duties that kept them busy and educated them about the workings of a merchant cargo ship. Drayke caught on quickly and found himself under the watchful eye of the captain, often being put to work at the helm (under supervision, of course).
One day, when Drayke was eight years old, he was helping in engineering when a Klingon maurader attacked the Starstream. During the attack, the ship was boarded by the mauraders and a number of the crew were injured and killed. Among the dead were Drayke's mother and father.
Orphaned, the captain of the ship, Franklin (Frank) Schmidt took the kids in and raised them as his own. Drayke and his sister were brought up with the mindset they would not be serving on a merchant ship if Frank had any say about it. He hired a nanny to tutor the children academically, and to his pleasure they both did very well. When Drayke told Frank he wanted to attend law school on Betazed, Frank could not have been happier. In fact, Frank paid for the education in full. Drake's sister also attended university on Betazed two years after Drayke.
After graduation, Drayke took the Federation BAR examination and obtained his authority to practice law within the Federation.
One night, at a tavern on Risa, Drayke met a Starfleet Marine, Lieutenant Isaac Green. Drayke listened to the stories Isaac told him of the adventures he had as a Marine. Drayke was captivated and was easily convinced the life of a Marine was more interesting than that of a lawyer. Drayke didn't waste any time in going to the recruiter's office on Mars. By the next week, he was on a shuttle to the Marine Academy.
PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION
Education
Drayke was schooled aboard the various merchant ships he grew up on. After his parents were killed, Drayke's foster-father made it a priority for Drayke and his sister to get a proper education. A nanny was hired and her main job was to teach the children academically . She was very profecient at her job and both children surpassed the educational levels required on Earth by their 17th birthdays.
After exceeding the academic standards required on Earth, Drayke enrolled in the Federation university on Betazed, where he studied interstellar law. Drayke graduated at 25 years old with a Doctorate of Juris Prudence. Drayke took the BAR examination and obtained his authority to practice law within the Federation.
Law was always an interest to Drayke, but enlisted in the Starfleet Marine Corps after talking to a Marine lieutenant, Isaac Green. It seems Lt. Green convinced him that a life full of excitement and intrigue was more fun than spending his life in a courtroom...
