History
Their world was a tropical paradise, one with many active volcanoes. Life was easy, everyone lived in harmony with the world around them and they developed at a very slow but fairly steady pace.
Around 2125 the volcanoes started to produce more toxic gases and spewing trace chemicals into the atmosphere. As a result the climate started to slowly get warmer.
Between 2187 and 2236 there was a dramatic increase in volcanic activity that resulted in a close to 20 shrines having to be abandoned. Over 5 times that many communities also had to be abandoned during this time.
By 2227 there were the first stirrings of unstable tectonic plates that resulted in a slow but steady increase in both earthquake activity and severity.
In 2242 they established communication with the Rodulan which eventually resulted in contact in 2244.
In 2258 the volcanoes and earthquake activity started to decrease and by 2283 everything seemed to have returned to normal pre-2125 conditions other than a noticeable planet wide temperature increase as a result of the greenhouse affect caused by the dramatic increase in toxic and trace chemicals in the atmosphere.
In 2313 one of the largest volcanoes on the planet erupted with out warning, followed by 5 more within a 28 hour period. This was accompanied by numerous devastating earthquakes and the sudden appearance of more than 20 new volcanoes. The atmosphere was flooded by ash. So much that it blanketed the entire world. People, plants and all other forms of life were killed off. It was the end of all life on Pigera IV.

As a result of the numerous active volcanoes on this world the Yash-El developed a unique belief that the spirit of their planet could be communicated with by praying at and offering gifts to the molten magma of the active volcanoes.
