Their physiology is very similar to Vulcans. Since most of Rigel V is uninhabitable, the Rigellians live deep in subterranean caves filled with an ancient system of atmospheric force-fields, oxygen recyclers and heating systems. Their technology is sufficient to maintain their habitat. Their existence does give much weight to the "lost colony" theory.
