<nowiki>::</nowiki>Adam rushed about, attempting to place all of his loose articles in the <br />
correct places. His mother&#039;s voice continued to be present in his mind as <br />
he did so, and thus he was constantly moving items around. His mother had <br />
been a part time interior designer, as well as a diplomat on Betazed, and <br />
he wanted his room to have that same glow that his mother had always <br />
created for the rooms that she had decorated. <br />
<br />
Adjusting a pillow, Adam sat down on his couch. This day had just been <br />
exhausting. Starfleet had made a mix-up and had placed Adam on the Victory, <br />
and then when it was decided that it would go in for a refit, they <br />
reassigned him to the Gorkon. Adam had to get a anti-grav unit to move his <br />
belongings once again, and when he finally did he was able to meet the <br />
captain.<br />
<br />
But now, Adam was practically settled. Everything seemed to be in its <br />
correct spot - although the only way to be completely sure would be to call <br />
his mother in Betazed, which Adam wouldn&#039;t do because he&#039;d never get her <br />
away from the communication console. As much as Adam loved his mother, he <br />
preferred that their communication be long, but far apart. <br />
<br />
Adam combed his fingers through his greasy brown hair, attempting to fix <br />
the disorganized look that comes with changing quarters, but he knew that <br />
he would need to get up and fix it if he really wanted it to look nice. <br />
Slumping further into the couch, he closed his eyes - imagining what life <br />
on a Sovereign class must be like. He hadn&#039;t been down to Engineering yet, <br />
but he was dying to. According to the specs, it was gigantic, and he would <br />
have a marvelous time getting used to the layout as well as the different <br />
stations that he would operate. <br />
<br />
Adam could still remember the vibrating warp core that he had left not more <br />
than a month ago on the USS Atlantis. That ship had been his home for over <br />
6 months, and it would be very hard to forget her, or her crew.<br />
<br />
But the remembrance of vibration made Adam aware of a personal vibration in <br />
his stomach. Yes - it must be. Adam was hungry.<br />
<br />
Standing up and actually fixing his hair, Adam looked into the mirror and <br />
smiled.::<br />
<br />
Haase: Smiles, Adam. That&#039;s the only way people are going to learn to like <br />
you. Remember to smile.<br />
<br />
<nowiki>::</nowiki>With that, Adam exited his quarters and navigated himself to the Mess <br />
Hall, where he whipped himself up a plate of grilled cheese and tomato soup <br />
- a human recipe to be sure - but he enjoyed it just the same. He figured <br />
that enjoying his food here was too boring. He&#039;d spend enough time in the <br />
Mess Hall to be sure. Instead, he diverted his course to the Observation <br />
lounge - where there was sure to be an amazing view.<br />
<br />
Upon entry, he noticed a young woman sitting and drinking a cup of, well, <br />
something. Adam couldn&#039;t smell it and she wasn&#039;t giving off any impression <br />
as to what it was, so Adam assumed that perhaps it was coffee or tea. He <br />
slowly walked up behind her - not in an attempt to scare her, but in an <br />
attempt to be polite and remain from interrupting her alone time.<br />
<br />
As he sat down next to her, she was still unaware of his presence. Adam <br />
decided that he should probably present himself.::<br />
<br />
Haase: Hi.<br />
<br />
Rosek: ::jumps and gasps:: Oh! I didn&#039;t hear you come in.<br />
<br />
Haase: Oh, I&#039;m sorry for startling you. I saw you when I came in, but I was <br />
hoping that I could enjoy my lunch here.<br />
<br />
<nowiki>::</nowiki>Adam silently hoped that she wouldn&#039;t want to be alone::<br />
<br />
Haase: So, what are you doing?<br />
<br />
Rosek: Just admiring the view.<br />
<br />
Haase: I understand. ::taking a small spoonful of soup.:: I actually enjoy <br />
eating in here more than in the Mess Hall. A lot less noise, and a much <br />
better view, if you ask me.<br />
<br />
Rosek: Response?<br />
<br />
Haase: Yeah. I&#039;ve just been assigned here - straight from the USS Atlantis. <br />
They had me in limbo for a little while - unsure if they were placing me on <br />
the Victory or not, but SFHQ finally made their decision. ::Smiles::<br />
<br />
Rosek: Response?<br />
<br />
Haase: Oh, really? I&#039;ve always wondered what is was like being an <br />
operations officer. I&#039;ve never actually had the ship experience, but I <br />
double majored in Engineering and Com/Ops. ::Adam took a bit from his <br />
sandwhich, and swallowed before continuing:: So...what do you think about <br />
the Gorkon? In my opinion, nice ship - weird name.<br />

Rosek: Response? <br />
<br />
Haase: I know, right? ::Adam laughed::<br />
<br />
Rosek: Response?<br />
<br />
Haase: I just hope that Engineering is as good as I hope it is. I&#039;ve never <br />
actually had the chance to study Quantum Slipstream Drive in action - so <br />
this will be a first. <br />

Rosek: Response?<br />
