When [[Waltas, Tyr Jashin|Captain Waltas]] and [[Cogud, Jorus|Jorus Cogud]] among others where captured by the smuggler Rambling Rose, Sopek was on duty at the helm, having to face an the responsibility of a full time helm officer.

During the Gurab II Crisis, Sopek joined [[Grell]] and [[Kokinos, Elpida "Ellie"|Ellie Kokinos]] in helping the science department stop a potential crisis.
