Doreen 'Doz' Finch is a lively, raucous and hands-on Human, currently posted as an Engineering Officer to the USS Gorkon, the flagship of the Tyrellian Defence and Exploration Taskforce.

Unlike the more traditional officers of Starfleet, Doz initially enjoyed a long and layered career as an Enlisted crewmember, aboard an array of ships and stations, following in the footsteps of her father and brothers. During her time aboard the USS Barrington and the USS Marigold, her superiors often suggested she commissioned to the officer ranks, But Doz always rebuffed the idea, preferring to stay 'on the lower decks'.

This all changed however when her closest and dearest friend pleaded with her while on his deathbed to finally do it, despite always supporting her decision not to. This revalation about his true feelings stirred a conundrum in her heart and mind.

Her Starbase 118 story therefore began just five years after his death, and her promotion to Ensign.
