Rania in general is known for being liberal and valuing education, but Iniko's family had strong ties to the one remaining coven in the area, Shaphire. Iniko's mother, Chioma, pushed very hard for jhea to join a coven. Jhe was aggressively disinterested in this career path. The discovery of warp drive and other civilizations, Iniko saw a way to escape jheas destiny. Jhe studied physics and biology in school, but at 18 joined a coven under pressure from jheas parents. Six months later jhe fled to Lokesh City to stay with jheas brother. There, jhe established some connections at the embassy and received a recommendation to Starfleet Academy.
