As lomales are in short supply, and necessary for reproduction, they are not exactly required by law, but certainly strongly encouraged, to enter a certain profession. Iniko was aggressively disinterested in this career path. Jhe sees Starfleet as a way to escape jheas destiny. Jhe studied biology and physics from home discreetly, but at 18 joined a coven under pressure from jheas parents. Six months later jhe fled to Lokesh City to stay with jheas brother. There, jhe established some connections at the embassy and received a recommendation to Starfleet Academy. Jhe joined starfleet at 19.
