Logline: Cody's old time friend and nemesis, the Training Holodeck, gets the last laugh.
((Corridors, Starbase 118))
Unlike the last time, David felt he didn't have to rush or hurry toward the holodeck area with the nervous excitement of the first time around several years ago, nor was he trying to distance himself from the death of his parents. He had thirty-seven years logged with two careers, first as a civilian securities investigator, then as a Starfleet Officer.
The five feet seven inch Terran male originally from the Mars Colonies strolled along the off-white corridor absent of viewport windows. His short, military-cropped brown hair was beginning to develop strands of gray. Sharp, observant blue eyes swept a familiar scene, a reception area just outside of the holodecks. He stopped and shot a suspicious glare at the holodeck doors.
The holodeck doors decided to return the favor and asserted its authority by looming to convey, "Hey, buddy! Come back in... I don't bite... no, really, I'm a perfectly benign holodeck. I'm not that same ol' holodeck that tried to kill you the last time... really! I've reformed!"
David didn't believe the holodeck... and he was pretty sure the holodeck was ready to mess with him again. He gave the evil-looking door his best withering stare and stepped up to have its doors whoosh open to a room of black square grids and a gathering of cadets. A crooked smile graced his weathered features.
((Holodeck Suite, Starbase 118))
Feeling a spring in his step, David crossed over the threshold of the training holosuite again. He strolled up to join the group, noting several young, mid-late twenties faces. His smile faded a bit, suddenly feeling old.
And realizing he was staring at a group of wide-eyed, deer-in-headlight group of women in Starfleet uniform. As a collective group, they started chuckling.
David blinked and shivered, suddenly feeling cold. His eyes shot down and looked over his naked body. He shot his head back wide, flooding red and crossed his legs covering himself.
Cody: AAAAHHHHHHHHHH......................
((David Cody's Quarters, Starbase 118))
Cody: ......................AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
David bolted upright in bed, blinking and breathing hard, covered in sweat. He threw the blankets off and felt his face, then his bare chest. He finally gave a long sigh and rubbed his eyes.
Cody: ::muttering:: Great... now I'm dreaming about that blasted training holosuite.
((Outside the Holodeck, Starbase 118 - Later))
In uniform, David approached the holodeck slowly, taking a minute to check around and see if there wasn't anyone else in the vicinity. He rubbed his jaw a moment, feeling all of those thirty-seven years, then ambled toward the doors and stopped just before triggering the open mechanism.
Cody: :: shooting the holodeck a warning glare :: No funny stuff. I don't care how far back you and I go. I'll leave you alone if you leave me alone.
If anyone saw him now, they'd probably think Dave lost his marbles somewhere along the way. They wouldn't be half wrong, either.. He eyed the holodeck doors and finally took a step forward--
--as the holodeck doors opened on their own accord.
Holodeck: =^= David Cody! You've come back to play with me! =^=
David froze mid-stride, eyes wide. His jaw dropped before he did a complete one eighty and bolted screaming back down the hall.
Holodeck: =^= Wait! Come back! Think of all the fun we'll have messing around with you!!! =^=
((David Cody's Quarters, Starbase 118))
David bolted awake, eyes wide and still shaking. Muttering incoherently, he threw the covers off and ignored the fact the small digital display on the com screen read 04:38 hours.
Cody: It's out to get me... I swear... it got a taste of me all those years ago and it wants to finish the job...
Sounds of a sonic shower came moments later.
