The Skarbek is the name of both a ship and the Maquis resistance cell, one that has gained a significant degree of notoriety in both the Federation and the Cardassian Union. Captained by Walter Brunsig, a former Starfleet officer, they have been making ever more daring raids on the Cardassians that torment the colonies in the Demilitarized Zone. Their most recent effort saw them take significant losses, and they have retreated to Peshkova Colony to lick their wounds and mourn their dead.
