Born to a well-placed family, Dion and Dax are the sons of a successful couple of diplomats. their parents are hardly famous, but are thought well on for their ability to settle issues in regards to personal grudges - as they often said, their own species had had similar issues. The boys were raised side-by-side and educated well, but early on it was clear they expected more out of the cool and intelligent Dion than the emotional and easily bored Dax.
Despite the parental favoritism the two brothers are extremely close. Dax tends to look after his twin, as Dion's workaholic tendencies mean he's the sort to not eat or get enough rest. Dax for his part is the opposite; he's the sort to use all his sicktime and spends most of his offtime in the starbase's civilian sectors watching the latest games on the holo. Dax is outgoing and friendly, the sort of person who makes friends easily and rarely ever takes things seriously.
