History:
Born to a fairly rich family, Alexander never wanted for anything. He had everything that money could buy, including an accelerated education and an internship with one of the most prestigious media networks of the time. After completing a two year internship, he chose to join Starfleet in order to see other worlds. Though his father wanted him to join the corporation, he respected the choice that had been made.
AJ chose to meld together two of his interests; exploring the galaxy and reporting the news. He took various postings around the fleet as a media liaison before being assigned to a major hub of activity, Starbase 118. Once there, AJ embarked on an entirely new level of press and media organization. Privy to some secret information, he has learned the hard lessons of any real Press Secretary has throughout history; some stories must be spun in a positive light, some in a negative light, and some things don't need to be reported at all.

Alex knew little about family life, as he was born to a media mogul who spent most of his time away from home. He is close with his mother, who never had to work while he was growing up.
