Personal History
Growing up, Mairi and her two sisters had a very happy childhood. They moved around a lot due to the nature of their mother's outreach work as a monk. They loved being able to visit so many varied and vibrant worlds and cultures. Through these experiences, she has developed a love of a wide range of cuisines and the ability to speak multiple languages to a basic standard. However, after having to say goodbye to so many best friends as a child, Mairi finds it difficult to form close relationships with people outside of immediate family. That's not to say she's cold or unfriendly - Mairi is bubbly, friendly and loves to be around people. She is independent, adaptable and able to enjoy her own company.
Mairi is the first person in her family to join Starfleet, which she did out of a desire to travel far and wide. She wants to see places and meet people no one has met before. She believes a Starfleet career will give her the greatest opportunity to live her values and do work that enriches the lives of as many people as possible.
She loves going to parties and dancing. In her free time Mairi likes to sketch the places and wonders she has seen with paint and oil pastels.
