Nothing Fancy

Lt. Commander Kalia Qinn (talk)

As Starfleet officers and other Federation Civilians move into Denali Station they are greeted with amazing wonders - tall buildings, machines of unknown origins, underground structures and complexes, parks offering recreational areas (if they can get the grass mowed), and more. And while the city itself offers the crew and their families plenty to do, they may be struck by the lack of certain amenities - at least to start.

Power and Habitation

As of Stardate 239905 the bulk of the city remains unpowered, with only the three main buildings of Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Soldotna constantly powered and inhabited. A fourth building, the Research Station is powered as necessary as experiments are run and science staff require the expenditure of power.

While Starfleet officers and more are used to having their own replicators, on Denali this is a luxury currently lacking in many crew quarters. This lack of personal replicator pushes crew and civilians alike toward the replimats for meals and in between meal socialization. Over time, this will change as the crew and the SCE improves the overall facilities.

Luxuries from Home

The crew is not cut off from home, but realistically it may take some time to bring in the luxury goods they would like. While quarters and rooms are large, and spacious, it may take some doing to arrange private or official transport of personal sofas, desks, or other items from home.

Transport

The crew has taken to using a small corner of the plaza surrounding the three main administrative buildings for parking several shuttles, though there is at least 1 shipping district within the city that would be ideal for the purpose, it remains unexplored.

Holodecks and Related Technology

As the crew moves into the City they will find a distinct lack of Federation holodecks, holosuites, EMHs, and other holographic technology. If needed, these technologies are likely available aboard one of the support vessels, such as the USS Eagle.
