Background
A native of the Tarsus IV Colony, Leigh was raised on her family's farm. During her formative years, she was surrounded by a loving family and extended community however it was always explained to her how fortunate she was. She was raised on the stories of the great famine and Tarsus IV Massacre. Her family was deeply religious and brought her up with the church heavily in her life. Even now she leans on her faith during difficult times, however, Leigh does not seek to proselytize.
Career Overview
Leigh has been in Starfleet since her early twenties, motived to join by the increased tensions surrounding the Bajorian sector. Perceiving a religious people under threat, first by Cardassians and other belligerents, Leigh enlisted in Starfleet out of a personal moral obligation. She served throughout the Dominion War as first-class torpedo specialist, earning a respectable but unremarkable combat record. After the War Leigh re-enlisted and continued on an engineering career path, although she has not spent her career in engineering rooms of Starships. She has completed a secondment with a marine unit and a rotation at Starfleet Academy as an assistant engineering instructor.
Since completing her assignment at Starfleet Academy, Leigh has reluctantly accepted a Warrant and has joined the USS Gorkon as a Boatswain.
