Kardashev Tachyons are a species of extradimensional tachyons that can be manipulated by powerful beings such as the Q, Prophets or members of the T'Kron Empire. These particles underlie much of the technology or psychokinetic powers used to manipulate space time. The presence of Kardashev Tachyons is indicative of the presence of technology or entity who can manipulate space time. By blocking out these particles the technology or entity may be inhibited from further use of such powers.
