Lieutenant Shimisi recording initial duty log. We've been recalled urgently to attend to a distress call from Outpost Hermes while we're participating in a Argo race on the same planet we assisted the Paioke colony. It appears that they're under some sort of attack and requested help. The race was aborted and we all went back to the ship and prepared for assisting the outpost and fending off any hostiles. I didn't even had time to change into uniform as we're inmeditately on our duty posts and getting ready for whatever might find. I hope that once the ship arrives the hostiles will think twice and leave. The Constitution has a name of its own in the area so I believe that once they realize they're dealing with such a starship they'll retire and our main efforts will be on making repairs to the outpost. Lieutenant Shimisi recording after action report. Upon our arrival to the Hermes outpost they're under attack from a hostile fleet that it happened to be part of the Lattice alliance and we managed to fend off the ships after a quick but fierce fight. They managed to make some damage to the ship, but nothing so serious that forbid us to render help to the outpost. Medical and engineering teams were dispatched to the outpost and I, along ensign Zaka and two Ollos worked to repair part of the systems and Chief Lida went down to the outpost too and worked close to captain VA, the station CO, to coordinate the efforts to get the outpost back to operational status. Given the damage suffered, the station communications were offline so we had to rely on our own systems to keep in touch with the Constitution in order to get supplies, personnel or evacuate the wounded. As we worked on the systems we found that some of the damage wasn't related to the orbital attack and Zaka discovered that the station had suffered an act of sabotage. We informed of our suspicions to Lida, who seemed to doubt our conclusions. As we worked on the systems we started to suspect that something was off as Zaka transported to the chip and he and Flores told me that Lida's behaviour was strange and then we lost communication with the ship. I wanted to ascertain if Lida and Va were themselves but, even as I posed a few questions that they didn't reacted as I expected, I didn't had enough to justify doing anything against them. So I had to play along while trying to get back to the ship through the probes deployed to restore communication between us in the Outpost and the ship. It wasn't until I received confirmation that there was a changelling infiltration that we along other crew from the ship, discovered that the Commodore and Cmdr. Herren were prisoners. We rescued them and went to confront Va and Lida, who weren't those as they're changellings. In the office it was only Va and the Commodore decided to face her herself and she's injured before we could intervene. I must say that if I had acted with my instincts the injuries of the Commodore could have been prevented. However, a good friend told me that given the situation what I did was the right thing to do with the information at my disposal. That doesn't take the feeling that I could have prevevented what happened to the Commodore, but it helps to deal with it. End log. =/\= | |||

USS Constitution Log Entries
The fake ship
Engineering officer Log, Stardate 240201.02 Lieutenant Shimisi reporting events of relevance during the mission of rescuing the Enterprise 1701 and its crew from the nebula that ended up with the aprehension of some Iotians impersonating Starfleet officers and having made a replica of a Constitution class starship imitating the USS Enterprise from the 23rd century. We started helping the crew to repair some damaged systems that threatened the ability to support life on the ship and could end up with the ship itself. During out work, tools started to dissapear and we found some strange readings on the ship's systems as well as some weird behavior from the fake crew. After checking with the captain about the suspicions, she allowed a modification to a helmet I was wearing to perform scans appropiate with our level of technology, what lead me to confirm that the ship was fake, built just months ago, and with the rest of the crew finding out other pieces of information we uncovered the truth. They're Iotians and they're impersonating historical starfleet officers inclding Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, and Scotty among others. Another faction stormed the ship willing to take those back to their previous life, but the captain managed to settle things between the factions. I must point out that Ensign Stapledon managed to not only make repairs to a ship from wich we had little knowledge, but in facing those... mobsters, as I've heard them referred to, when we had to take control of the situation. Even being a fake Enterprise and a fake crew, this has proven to be an interesting experience from wich I've learned more about the history of Federation technology, first hand experience with duotronic circuits and even had a chance to check on the pressure variances on IRC tank storages of a ship of that time, or at least close to what would have been in a real one. Anyway, Stapledon managed to download their computer files and we've them on secure storage for Starfleet's officials review for their trial. End log =/\= |
The Paioke colony
Engineering officer Log, Stardate 240204.02 Lieutenant Shimisi, this log records that we've been assigned to help a civilian colony with some environmental problems they're having. Apparently some of their plants are being reported to die due some unknown problem, so we've set a complete away team to determine the cause. In my case, I'll check for any technological problem that might lead to the cause, along other engineering officers, Stapledon among them. This will be the second official mission we'll work together and I expect a better understanding and a better work flow between us. Computer, pause and save for later edit. =/\= =/\= Computer continue duty log. We've ended the mission and finally the science and medical teams managed to find the cause of the illness of the plants and it has to do with some fungus net that went below the colony, underground that was acting like some sort of circulatory system. Thanks to some scan modifications we managed to map the entire network and they managed to distribute a cure. The colony seems to be safe and it seems it'll need a change in the leadership, but that's something we can't get involved. With the problem solved and with the crashed shuttle found and with plans for it to be repaired for sublight operations in the near future, the colony prospects are good. End log. =/\= |
Urgent recall, distress call Outpost Hermes
Engineering officer Log, Stardate 240207.23 Lieutenant Shimisi recording initial duty log. We've been recalled urgently to attend to a distress call from Outpost Hermes while we're participating in a Argo race on the same planet we assisted the Paioke colony. End log =/\= |
Outpost Hermes After Action Report
