Deep Space 14 in orbit of New Bajor was the Federation's first permanent outpost in the Gamma Quadrant and provided logistical and defensive support for the 900,000 colonists residing on the planet below.[1] The station's architecture fusion of the classic lines seen in the Federation and the grandeur and curves of Bajoran architecture [2] The centre core resembles a sort of tower, as common in Bajor, with a domed top and a habitat ring that encircles the middle with the upper half being a dome-like cover of transparent aluminium, hosting an abortorium city scape. Bajoran solar sails are incorporated for both their aesthetic and for some power generation.
