Template:Sullivan Ensign Renae Sullivan, a 3/4 Betazoid - 1/4 human hybrid, is the Security Tactical officer aboard the USS Drake. She is also the daughter of Jonathan Sullivan, half sister to Rowan Sullivan, adopted Aunt of Katherine Sullivan and the goddaughter of Broxley Sommer.

Stats

  • Full Name: Renae Ulivia Sullivan
  • Age: 22
  • Date of birth: Stardate 236601.30
  • Place of Birth: Earth
  • Telepathic status: T4 - Manually limited(Telepathic/Empathic Scale)

Personality

She can be disruptive at times, and can also be difficult, but she is a very dedicated officer not matter what she does or doesn't do.

Renae is fairly serious but is also playful (some of the cadets in her classes claimed that she was a bit of a flirt). She enjoys sitting with friends when ever she can and going to the holodeck.

She is very excepting of everyone, saying "you are who you were created to be, so why change it?". She likes trying to cheer people who have had a tough day up, reassuring them that the next day would be different. She also reminds them of their qualities, and careful not to hurt them.

Renae stutters when she feels pressured or stressed.

Appearance

  • Height: 1.83m (6'0'')
  • Hair Color: Honey Blond
  • Length of Hair: Ten centimeters past her shoulders
  • Eye Color: Midnight Blue
  • Build: Athletic build, and is rather thin
  • Carriage: Renae is usually ready to take on anything, but she is also relaxed.
  • Voice: Renae's voice is in the middle of any tone, but she makes a very promising soprano
  • Taste in Clothing: Usually a tank top and black slacks or a long-short sleeved shirt and boot cut jeans, depending on what she's doing.

Manner

  • Quarters: Renae prefers quarters with a view of the stars. She usually keeps her quarters as clean as possible, but at some points, she just can't. Renae also doesn't really own much, so you could say that her quarters are basically empty. You can usually find photographs of her and her brother or her and one of her friends at the Academy, but never anything of her other family.
  • Favorite Room: The Bridge of a star ship.
  • Habits: Renae only ever starts the day with a cup of quadriple sugered tea. She also has a habit of getting into other peoples minds.
  • Mannerisms: When Renae reads, it is difficult to get her attention because she is so into the book. When a situation is difficult, you find that she is trying to keep the crew's mood easy-going by throwing a joke around or re-assuring a member.
  • Hobbies and Pastimes: Renae enjoys a good game of 'Target Practise' with a holographic hand phaser or rifle on the holodeck. She also visits the dreams of her brother or missed friends (don't worry, she asks first).
  • Ambitions and Goals: None that are really major. It's more like she wants to beat a phaser-shooting high-score now that she found her father.
  • Achievements in Life: Graduating Star Fleet Academy was one of the big achievements.
  • Disappointments in Life: Renae is only disappointed about never being able to see her sister-in-law or going to her brother's marriage.
  • Physical Limitations: She has no serious physical limitations, but her back can go out now and then

Likes

  • Renae likes being on duty whenever she can, and would oppose to a commanding officer if they ever took her off duty for some reason, unless it is a good one in her eyes.
  • Even though Renae won't admit it, she does enjoy seeing her brother on a star ship when he isn't meant to be there.
  • Renae communicates with her Academy friend, Sky Blake, and can be regularly be found with others while off duty.

Dislikes

  • Renae has had a hate for those who decide that they want to hurt any of her friends.
  • If she can avoid it, she prefers not to read other officers files. She rather talk to them than read about them.

Temperment

  • Renae is serious when it is time for work but when she has her time off, she is very easy going.
  • Also; Renae didn't get the childhood like everyone else. It wasn't tramatic, but it was certainly short. It is important for her ship counsellor to know about this as at some points events can trigger an immature response such as being a little too scared or being overly angry.

Mental Problems

  • If Renae has her mental boundaries down and is exposed to the thoughts of all the crew on board a ship at once, if she has an argument with her brother during a dream that turns physical or if she is invaded mentally, Renae is most likely to get a migraine or faint
  • She also fears any hospital or sick bay due to what happened to her when she was six years old (she had become fairly sick and had to go to a hospital. The staff there were not very caring or gentle with her, which is what caused her avoidence to them now. "They literally treated me as if I was dirt.").
  • Renae is very sensitive to the Borg - even the word 'Borg' can cause her to stop sleeping for a week.

Family

  • Spouse: None
    • Has not been in a relationship in her entire life.
  • Children: None
  • Parents
    • Father: Jonathan Sullivan (Human Betazoid hybrid; seems to be alive and well on Vulcan): Jonathan, who was meant to be dead after a shuttle accident on Betazed, was found on Vulcan after a bar fight. How he survived a shuttle accident which should have claimed his life is unknown, but it explains why there was only six humanoid remains on the shuttle instead of the recorded passengers of seven.
    • Mother: Ulivia Sullivan (Betazoid; Assumed assimilated): Ulivia was taken away from Jonathan and Renae when she was filling in for the dead Tactical officer on the Bridge of a starship that was being taken by the Borg. That last words Renae heard from her was "I promise I'll come back.". She never did, and Renae doesn't expect her to.
  • Siblings: Rowan Jonathan Sullivan

Non-Biological Family

  • Broxley Sommer (Caraadian; Currently on Nanaria): Otherwise known as "Uncle Broxley", he is not in any way related to Renae. He and Ulivia had a long-term relationship, ending up in Ulivia finding her 'Imzadi' in Jonathan. Broxley was heart broken, but he felt no anger toward Jonathan, and the two became good friends. After Ulivia died, he and Jonathan started to raise Renae. Broxley knew that Jonathan was having another relationship, but wasn't aware that the result was Rowan. After Jonathan died, Broxley took the two in his care for a year or so, and told Renae that he couldn't take care of them every single year. The two had to move back to Earth to see Ulivia's old old friend.
  • Laura Demek (Betazoid; Currently missing): She was the second one to have them, and she was also the one who was with Ulivia when she was captured by the Borg. Renae and Rowan were with her for a short time, until Laura told them to move on - it had become too much for her. Renae and Rowan have not seen her since, and were told that she had been filed as missing.
  • The Blake Family (Brekkians/Betazoids; Brekka/StarFleet): Rowan and Renae were welcomed into the Blake family when Renae had met Skyleena Blake, the only child that Lila and Rex have. Rowan, Taylor Ivashkov and Katherine had lived with them for a long time before they decided to transfer to StarBase 118.
  • The Jackly Family (Humans; Earth/StarFleet): The Jackly family had allowed Rowan and Renae to stay with them for as long as they wished. The youngest son, Joe Jackly, has a crush on Renae, but it didn't drive Renae off the planet. Instead, she flirted with him until he gave up.

All others are very minor, and only allowed Renae and Rowan to stay with them for a short time.

History

Renae was born on the 30th of January, 2366. Where on Betazed, she doesn't remember at all.

When Renae was very young, her mother taught her very basic abilities like pushing buttons to power things, as Ulivia was a very good Tactical officer. This is part of the reason why Renae is a very good Tactical officer, because she was taught basic things early on in her life.

But on Stardate 236909.20, her mother, Ulivia Sullivan, was assimilted by the Borg. No one knows how or why, but her father claimed that her mother was taken away delibrately - something that Renae believed and what made her mentally afraid of the Borg ever since (if Renae hears the word Borg, that thought of her mother - even though she was at least three years old at the time - being Borg sends her emotional and mental state down hill) For a short time, she had dreams that her mother was a tactical officer on a Borg ship, because at the time, Renae had thought that they had ships like normal Alpha Quardrant ships. She was told that this was wrong by her mother's ex-boyfriend, Broxley Sommer, who Renae had started calling Uncle Broxley.

Regardless of her mother, Renae continued life with her father. She was trained to outrun anything at a very young age, even though she didn't have to. She suspected that her father wanted to keep her safe, so that she could out-run the Borg or anyone else. But two years later on stardate 237101.01, her father, Jonathan Sullivan, was killed in a shuttle accident when Renae was with some of his friends. The cause of the accident was unknown, but Renae believes that it was no accident and was delibrate. This is what made her want to join StarFleet as a Security officr.

Two months after her father's death, Renae found out that her father had a relationship with someone who gave birth to Rowan Jonathan Sullivan. The woman looked almost exactly like Ulivia Sullivan, and it was as if her father tried ot re-create her. He had failed, as Vera Jones had a very angry attitude.

Practicaly getting Rowan dumped on her hands, Renae raises Rowan with the help of a few friends here and there. They both teach each other to be quick, undectible and unnoticable. They both become very athletic and are able to run pretty fast. Even though they were not criminals, they both put themselves aboard ships on to get to Betazed and Earth.

One of their favourite places to go was Nanaria, where Uncle Broxley lived as he was Caraadian. They were welcomed there, and they weren't as much a problem as the cities were underground and most of the people were miners.

It was when her little brother decided that he was old enough to fend for himself that he parted ways with her with a very difficult good bye.

Renae was accepted into the Academy with wary eyes. But she was befriended by Skyleena Blake, who is currently assigned to the USS Challenger A after finishing the Academy a few months after Renae did.

About two years after Renae's acceptance to the Academy, Renae hears that Rowan adopted a little three year old; Katherine Angela. Then a year later, she gets a letter from Rowan saying that he is getting married. She was extraordanarily happy for him, but was unable to attend the wedding due to her Academy training - she was failing enough classes as it was. Rowan understood perfectly and was not upset that she missed it.

During the Academy years, Renae failed several of her classes due to her idea of a 'diplomatic solution' (her solution to a heated argument is simple - point a weapon a them and see what they do, even though she knows that this is wrong), but still managed to graduate.

Renae was also on one of the winning teams of Hunter, along with Cadet Sky Blake and Cadet Alixis Ozera. She was the runner and executive leader, and her main job was to confuse the other teams as to who was Renae and who was Sky, as they had the same color hair. This helped a lot when they swapped tags and made a run for it.

Renae remembers every single person in her final exam class: Thomas Patterson, Belinda Desdemona, Tasha Kennedy, Re'Maru, Adusa Threll and Laila Renek. Renae has not had any contact from them, and doesn't expect to.

A day after her graduation of Starfleet, Renae was the second one (Re'Maru was the first) in her final exam class to find out what ship she was to be posted on, and it turned out to the the USS Drake, a Marina Class Starship, as a Security and Tactical officer.

During her time on the Drake, Renae had made several friends, such as Oliver Weston, Aron Kells and Angel Jae. Although none of them really had time to hang out, they all respect each other.

However, when the Computer notified her that her father was near the Drake, and on Vulcan - where her crew was on shore leave - Renae immediately took Rowan and went to search for him. Unfortunately, a bar fight took place when a Human decided Renae was something to touch. Rowan, like the over protective brother he is, took it personally, and started the fight. By the time it was over, and by the time Commander finally stepped in, a man stepped forward and asked why Starfleet was there. After another argument with him, Renae finally got a good look at him, and then realized that her father had returned, and had not died like she, Rowan and Uncle Broxley had thought.
