Background
- Ceciri was born to a relatively simple family. Her mother was a politician, and her father a miner. From an early day, she was highly interested in engineering, much to the dismay of her mother, who intended to found a dynasty, and rise to power as a local politician. Her mother was well known and subsequently, ignored, due to her anti Starfleet sentiments. The events of Wolf 359 and the Dominion War only pushed her mother out into the fringes of the political landscape.
- Her father died on stardate 237510.01 shortly after the Dominion War ended. Coupled with the sudden disgrace of her mother, both Ceciri and her mother joined their aunts shipping venture. The venture often ran near and to the Serellan Sector, and she very quickly started to apply her interest in engineering by helping her uncle repair the ship.
- For the next 11 years, she gradually gained more responsibility as a relief pilot and engineer. And had the pirate attack not happened in 2387, she would have eventually became Captain of her own ship. But the pirate attack happened. Lured into a sudden ambush, the pirates boarded the ships. While the crew put up a fight, her cousin and uncle died. It is extremely likely that had the USS Kitakaze not responded in time, that Ceciri and her mother may have ended up dead as well.
- However, they were rescued, and while her mother was unhappy at Starfleet in the first place for not rescuing them quicker, Ceciri resolved then to join Starfleet, to protect those who needed protection. This event was only reinforced by the Hobus supernova.
