Fueled by spite, hope, and jin'sarra. She's gonna make this world a better place whether it wants to be one or not, dammit. She's very smart, but has had little formal schooling.
Likes: Strong jin'sarra, strong booze, good music (especially old Bajoran folk ballads).
Dislikes: Spoonheads, Starfleet, the Federation, anyone who harms without cause.
Background
Tahna Meru grew up on Bajor during the Occupation. She joined the Bajoran Resistance as a teenager, on a quest for revenge after the Spoonheads murdered her parents. In the resistance, she often posed as a “pretty, seemingly brainless singer” in order to gather intelligence on the Cardassians and stage the occasional assassination. She remained active in the resistance until the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor. She is the only surviving member of her Bajoran Resistance cell.
Unwilling to give up the fight when the Occupation ended (and unable to stay on Bajor), she joined the Skarbek crew shortly before they wound up in a Cardassian prison. Since joining the Maquis she’s had to toughen up a bit and polish her combat skills. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, but she still prefers to employ subterfuge to accomplish her goals.
